009.
February. Even when you say it, it seems like it’s doomed to be the worst month of the year. Whether you are single and are left without a Valentine, or you are totally in love with your significant other, want to give them the world, but you know you can’t make it as good as last year. Either way it goes, I have some tips for you.
Alone for the holiday? No worries! I got you covered.
-Do something nice for yourself. Try running a hot bubble bath, adding a few rose petals, light some candles and having a nice glass of wine to pamper you. No one can love you like you love you.
-If you decide to rent or watch a movie, NO LOVEY DOVEY STUFF! It’ll just make you want to hang yourself even more.
-Buy yourself something. Chocolates, flowers, diamonds, hell send yourself on a shopping spree and relish in all that catches your eye.
-Hang out with other single friends. They pretty much feel the exact same way that you do. Why not celebrate as a group?
-Make someone else’s day. Send your best friend some flowers or give your mom chocolate. They would really appreciate it, especially coming from you.
Can’t afford your snookie wookie’s $30,000 diamond ring wish? It’s no biggie. She will understand.
-Bake! There is nothing like an effort to make some sweets for your honey! Whether you pass or fail at this one, it’s the thought and sincerity that count the most.
-If it’s nice out, take your loved one on a picnic in the park and if it’s not, set up an indoor picnic. Spread a blanket, light some candles and prepare a delicious meal with an appropriate beverage to match.
-Make a coupon book for your lover. Get some red, pink & white construction paper and make a book. Write things like “good for one massage” or “good for a passionate kiss” on each page. Simple & cheap!
-Nothing says “Aww” like a homemade card!
-And if you think Snookie won’t be satisfied with any of these, eBay has a WIDE selection of jewelry that you can bid on.
Aaahhh, what we have adapted as a holiday full of love & emotion. I believe that same emotion should be shown throughout the year, leaving February 14th just another day to tell the one you adore you love them. BUT to each his/her own. Hopefully, these will work for you. Until next time...
