POET FEATURE: @eXquiSiteAlien ; click here for blog
I have known Exquisite for about a year now. I love her to death, in fact, I consider her my "brother". Not only is Exquisite smart but she is talented with words & has a WONDERFUL passion for poetry. I asked her to be a feature on my blog not only as a gift for me, but a gift for you as well. Enjoy.

Why do we hate more than we love?
Why do we hate more than we love?
Defying the man above
He asks us to love without condition
Without specifics and definitions
To define precisely what it is
To love with all thine heart
The way He has done for us all from life's start
Yet we disregard His wishes
Priding ourselves on disses & hate
We hate our parents
We hate our siblings
We hate our neighbors
Simply put, we hate each other
Yet claim to love one another in His eyes
With abundance of pride we hold inside
We block our own way to His heavenly skies
In failing to love the human behind the face
The skin behind the race
The intimacy between same sex lovers
And the unwillingness to consider any man our brother
We continue to push hate to its peak
While worldwide love grows weak
Why do we hate more than we love?
Defying the man above
Who gives us everything we receive
If only we all believed
That no pain comes from another's success
Yet we envy what we do not possess
Hate the man for doing his best
Curse the woman for being blessed
Causing our own soul to be in constant unrest
If only we chose to love instead of hate
Speak only the truth instead of what's fake
Pick our brother up when he falls
And give what we can, big or small
If only we loved more than we hated
My words would be outdated
Yet hate passes through generations
Despite our civil liberations
The world is filled with hate
Has been since the earliest of days
Hating is just one of the world's ways
And it will never go away.
Despite the way it is and has been,
Its never to late to let go of the hate.
